“Hackensack Meridian Health is proud that six of our hospitals have received an “A” rating from the Leapfrog Group, ”said Robert C. This top rating reflects the high quality and compassionate care we provide to our patients every day, and we look forward to continuing to raise the standard of care in New Jersey and beyond. “
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national monitoring organization, assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” rating to general hospitals nationwide based on more than thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, and the systems hospitals have in place to prevent damage.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital assessment program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and patient harm. The rating system is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Notes are updated twice a year, in the fall and in the spring.
“An ‘A’ safety rating is a tremendous achievement, one of which this community should be extremely proud,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I thank the leadership and workforce of Hackensack Meridian Health and their hospitals recognized for their commitment to putting patients and their safety first, especially in these difficult times. “
