Senator Denny Hoskins reminds nonprofit groups of deadline for grant applications – Missouri Senate
JEFFERSON CITY — Sen. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg, reminds nonprofits that the deadline for submitting applications for Missouri Humanities Major Grants is August 1. Civic, educational, and cultural groups can apply for grants of up to $10,000 to help fund humanities-based projects.
Missouri Humanities will consider grant applications to support interpretive exhibits, content-based website enhancements, living history and museum theater presentations, teacher workshops, panel discussions, and more projects that facilitate interaction between the public and experts in the humanities. The money can be used to fund speaker fees and travel, teaching or interpreting supplies, equipment rental or purchase, communication costs, printing and other expenses. Applicants must be based in Missouri and projects must be located in the state. Missouri Humanities requires recipient organizations to provide matching funding.
“Local nonprofit groups, including schools, have the opportunity to provide educational and cultural programs to their communities with funding through Missouri Humanities,” Senator Hoskins said. “I encourage any group that qualifies to look into the program and see if they could benefit from it.”
Missouri Humanities is one of 56 state and territory humanities councils founded by Congress and receives funding through the National Endowment for the Humanities. More information about Missouri Humanities grants is available by calling 1-800-357-0909.
