New Account and Events Manager for the New York Apple Association

Nathaniel Foster joins the New York Apple Association as Accounts and Events Manager. He brings 20 years of grocery industry experience in retail buying and store operations, customer service, and sales and account management.
Foster has over 15 years of experience managing grocery and fresh produce departments and operating stores for several independent health food grocers, with extensive experience in product sourcing and marketing. purchasing and replenishing inventory. His most recent role was as Satellite Store Manager for GreenStar Co-op in Ithaca, NY, where he oversaw the grand opening of its Collegetown store and guided the new store through a first year of operation. successful activity. In this role, he worked closely with New York farmers and shippers to bring locally grown fruits and vegetables to the Collegetown store and to promote New York farms to the college community. Prior to that, Foster held the position of Territory Sales Manager for wholesale distributor UNFI, managing a sales territory with over 50 independent retail accounts in Western and Central New York and the Northern Region. of Pennsylvania.
Foster comes from a family with roots in horticulture and agriculture and is an avid gardener himself. He graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. He lives with his wife Karlyn and their two children in Clifton Springs.

Foster will manage retail and restaurant accounts with Cailin Kowalewski and Susan Sarlund. NYAA has added marketing assets to its portfolio and looks forward to rolling them out this fall. NYAA’s highly graphic tri-wall orchard bins, displays, poly and paper bins, poly pouches and bags will continue to be available through NYS apple shippers or through the NYAA.

In addition to adding to its marketing portfolio, NYAA filmed two new commercials late last fall and these commercials will launch via traditional television and cable in addition to streaming.
“The apple blossoms are in full bloom right now and are looking beautiful. NYAA has had a great year for production and sales and we look forward to a successful harvest,” Haskins said.
The flowers first appear in the Hudson Valley, then to the western and upper central sections of New York State and throughout the northeast region.
