Knights, which has an office in York, records profitable growth
A law firm whose recent relocation set a record for office rents in York has seen strong growth following the initial impact of the pandemic.
Knights, the UK’s fastest growing legal and professional services firm, is holding its Annual General Meeting today at which the Chairman will report on the ‘strong momentum’ and ‘good start’ of the company in the new fiscal year.
The legal and professional services firm became the first commercial tenant to move into the recently completed Hudson Quarter development across from York Station, a move that was part of the company’s growth ambitions.
The deal was £ 25 per square foot for the 4,700 square foot open plan space that can accommodate up to 48 people.
Group Chairman Bal Johal said in a statement to the AGM: “The past fiscal year saw Knights achieve another year of strong profitable and cash-generating growth, demonstrating the resilience of our business model and our people.
“After the initial impact of the pandemic in the first half of the year, the Group returned to strong organic growth in the second half, which complements the contribution of recent acquisitions.
“The Board is pleased to announce that the strong momentum of the Group from the second half of fiscal year 21 continued during the new fiscal year with a good start to negotiations during fiscal year 22 in accordance with the expectations of the Advice.
“The Group confirms that it will provide a half-year trading update for October 31, 2021 in November 2021, before releasing its half-year results in January 2022.”
Knights was ranked number one for revenue growth over the past four years in the Lawyer’s Top 100 Survey, released in October 2020.
Knights has specialists in all key areas of corporate and commercial law to provide end-to-end support to businesses of all sizes and industries. It focuses on the main UK markets outside of London and currently operates from 16 offices located in York, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Chester, Crawley, Exeter, Leeds, Leicester, Maidstone, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Stoke, Weybridge and Wilmslow.
“Our new office space in Hudson Quarter provides Knights with excellent growth potential in the region as we continue to take positive steps to build the leading legal and professional services business. Hudson Quarter is truly exceptional and we are delighted to welcome our colleagues and clients to the building in the near future.
