BREVARD COUNTY, FL – The Mid-Coast Officials Association (MCOA) announced that the Florida High School Athletic Association has rebuilt the MCOA to provide official boys’ lacrosse sports services in Brevard, Indian River and Volusia counties.

“We are thrilled to once again serve our region with the Boys’ Lacrosse Officials,” said MOCA President Steve Muzzy.

“MCOA has proudly served our region for over 40 years. We always strive for excellence in our services and regularly have officials working for state championship games each year.

The MCOA invites all local men’s lacrosse officials to register with the MCOA through the FHSAA and our website.

Javier Mazza has been selected as interim MCOA chief for Boys Lacrosse and will appoint an appointed commissioner until Boys Lacrosse officials elect a commissioner for the upcoming spring season.

Javier Mazza has done an incredible job providing quality officiating services for the sport of women’s lacrosse and the goal is to replicate that success for the men’s teams we support.

We look forward to working with Friends of Brevard Lacrosse and encourage those interested to sign up as Boys Lacrosse officials.

The MCOA and its partners will provide the training and support necessary to prepare you for the game for the upcoming season. Our website, www.mcoa.org will provide full registration advice and contact information if you have any questions.

The MCOA, through its unique multi-sport model, focuses on:

■ To provide high-quality, FHSAA-certified sports arbitration and administration services at fair, reasonable and competitive prices.

■ To support our official members, schools, coaches and administrators in our united mission to serve student-athletes in interscholastic competition with excellence.

MCOA is one of the few associations in the state that provides official athletic services to all of the most popular high school sports, including baseball, basketball (girls and boys), soccer, girls’ lacrosse, lacrosse for boys, football (girls and boys), softball, volleyball and wrestling.
