SHENZHEN, China, September 30, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Aesthetic Medical International Holdings Group Limited (Nasdaq: AIH) (the “Company” or “AIH”), one of the leading providers of aesthetic medical services in China, announced today a preliminary plan of commercial and restructuring strategies. Given the time and effort required to assess the impact of such a plan on its financial results, the Company currently anticipates that the publication of its unaudited financial results for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2021 will be delayed. .

As a pioneer in the aesthetic medical services industry in China, the Company is committed to facilitating the orderly development of the market in a consistent manner. The Company intends to strategically reorient its development strategy from rapid national expansion to more focused, stable and sustainable growth in terms of revenues and profitability.

As such, the Company is considering a strategic restructuring, aimed at maximizing its resources with various new strategies, including, among others, the following:

1) More targeted market delineation – focus on the main regional markets, namely the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay region and the Yangtze Delta region;

2) More regular development – adopt a cautious approach to acquisitions and strengthen organic growth by renovating existing flagship hospitals and investing in synergistic clinics; and

3) Healthier wallet – divest certain hospitals and clinics located in non-strategic markets or which do not meet the Company’s internal performance requirements.

The Company expects the envisaged restructuring plan to be an essential step in consolidating its leading position and its competitiveness in the market, with an improvement in its overall operational efficiency. The Company believes that the plan will allow it to improve its profitability and have a healthier balance sheet over the long term.
